چکیده

Microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) uses the metabolic function of microbes to carry out biochemical reactions with other substances in environment. Through controlled growth inorganic minerals, soil particles are cemented and pores filled solidify reduce its permeability. Thus, application this technology was foreseen geotechnical engineering environment (building antiseepage, contaminated restoration, slope erosion, sand liquefaction). In review article, based on current research findings, urea hydrolysis cementation mechanism MICP briefly described. The influences factors such as enzyme activity, solution concentration, pH, temperature, grouting method, particle size MICP-treated discussed. properties soils evaluated, for instance, strength, stiffness, liquefaction resistance, permeability, durability. applications ground improvement, seepage control, foundation erosion fixation heavy metals summarized. Finally, future directions development elucidated provide a reference guidance promotion field.

Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation Employing Environmental Isolates

In this study, five microbes were employed to precipitate calcite in cohesionless soils. Four microbes were selected from calcite-precipitating microbes isolated from calcareous sand and limestone cave soils, with Sporosarcina pasteurii ATCC 11859 (standard strain) used as a control. Urease activities of the four microbes were higher than that of S. pasteurii. The microbes and urea-CaCl₂ medium...

Mixing Precipitation of CaCO3 in Natural Waters

The mixing precipitation of CaCO3 in natural waters was theoretically studied by the methods of chemical equilibrium calculation. Results show that mixing precipitation of CaCO3 can be produced by mixing between two unsaturated water samples with respect to CaCO3, two oversaturated water samples, an unsaturated water sample and an oversaturated water sample. Mixing precipitation can be classifi...
